I really like these 'big sky' paintings! I used to live in Norfolk, parts of which are flat, so the sky could seem huge and your paintings are reminding me of that a bit and tempting me to do some 'big sky' paintings of my own!
Hi Judy! I hope you do some big sky paintings as they are so much fun! Don't know why I haven't tried this perspective before. They remind me of parts of where I was raised as well. My sister pointed that out as I didn't even realize I was capturing some of my roots. :) Thanks for your lovely comments which are always greatly appreciated and for stopping by!!
It took me a while to realise that I keep painting the Castle Meadows because they remind me of the flat parts of Norfolk, even though I'm surrounded by beautiful mountains here in Wales!
Yeah...I think subconsciously we draw on our roots...no matter where we end up. :) I'm surrounded by the Cascades and Olympic mountains and love them very much. But, sometimes I miss seeing the sweeping skyscapes as we are surrounded by very tall evergreens that block much of that. So I will just paint what I don't always get to see! :)
